The No Kidding With Our Kids Foundation is undertaking a hands-on refurbishment project to restore and revitalize an existing greenhouse used for agricultural education and youth development. Over time, the structure has experienced wear and tear, including damaged netting, weakened areas in the frame, and weather-faded exterior paint.
During SXMDOET, volunteers and ASA Youth Leaders will help remove the old netting, install new netting, reinforce the structure with nails and fasteners, repaint the exterior frame, and complete a general cleanup of the work area. These actions will restore the greenhouse’s safety, appearance, and functionality, ensuring it remains a productive space for youth agriculture programs. Volunteers are encouraged to bring helpful tools such as hammers, ladders, nails or screws (if available), work gloves, and any additional items they believe may assist with installation and minor repairs.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring:
Hammers
Ladders
Nails / screws (if available)
Work gloves
Safety glasses (optional)
Any other tools they believe may be necessary for netting installation or minor repairs
All tools brought by volunteers are optional, but appreciated. The more equipment available, the smoother and faster the refurbishment process will be.
