🛠️ Rollable wooden displays

🛠️ Rollable wooden displays
The FREEGAN Food Foundation works to reduce food waste and support families in need on St. Maarten by collecting surplus food and good‑quality donated items and redistributing them with dignity through their Freegan Food Market, together with a thrift store and FREEGAN support coach project for families. Through this work, they help households access nutritious foods, clothing, furniture, toys, books, and more: keeping useful items out of the landfill and in the hands of people who need them most.

For this SXM DOET project, the foundation is building rollable wooden display boxes for use in their thrift store. These custom display units on wheels will make it easy to move items in and out of the shop and showcase goods outside the store, helping to attract more visitors and increase sales that support community programmes. At the same time, the displays will provide extra organized storage space for items that are harder to exhibit on standard shelving.
Volunteers will help design and construct these display boxes: practical tools that will make the thrift store even more flexible, accessible, and impactful for the community.

Come join the fun, get a little creative, and leave your mark—these display boxes will literally roll out into the community, helping people access food, clothes, toys, and more. It’s teamwork, DIY, and impact all in one day!
