The Philipsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church has a long tradition of showing up for its community — guided by a simple but powerful statement: Touching Hearts, Transforming Communities. Through its Community Service Ministry, the church provides food, clothing, and essential support to those in need on Sint Maarten. Behind all of that generosity is a pantry that keeps it all running.
And right now, that pantry needs some attention.
The container that houses the church's food and clothing pantry is dealing with a practical but urgent problem: rotten window frames and missing screens are allowing insects to get in and damage stored goods — food and clothing meant for people who truly need it. This SXM Doet, volunteers will replace the rotten wood frames, install new window screens to keep pests out, give the container a fresh coat of paint, and add a logo board to give the pantry the identity it deserves.
It's unglamorous work, but it directly protects the resources this church distributes to vulnerable members of the community every week. Fix the pantry, protect the food, and keep the mission going.
