The WYCCF Community Pantry is a vital resource that supports children and families in need by providing access to essential food items and everyday necessities. It operates as a safe and supportive space where families facing food insecurity can receive assistance with dignity and care.
For our DOET project, we will be organizing a food drive to support the WYCCF Community Pantry. The goal of this project is to collect as many canned goods and non-perishable food items as possible to help individuals and families in need within our community.
With the support of our dedicated staff and the assistance of 20 external volunteers, we will work together to gather food donations from local shoppers. Volunteers will be stationed outside several supermarkets—including Carrefour, Market Garden, Sunny Foods, Fairway Market, and Greens Market—where they will respectfully ask customers entering and leaving the stores to consider donating canned goods and other non-perishable food items.
Our team will provide information about the WYCCF Community Pantry and explain how donations directly benefit local families facing food insecurity. Through community engagement and teamwork, we hope to make a meaningful impact and significantly increase the pantry’s available food supply.
This project not only aims to support those in need but also encourages volunteerism, community involvement, and awareness about food insecurity in our area.
