Gazebo Fencing Project

Gazebo Fencing Project
The Lion Civic Center is registering a safety and structural improvement project to install wooden fencing around the lower outdoor gazebo. This gazebo is a key space used for youth activities, lessons, and community gatherings; however, the open sides currently provide no boundary or protection. Installing lattice fencing will help secure the platform, prevent falls, create a safer environment for children, and enhance the appearance of the structure while still allowing airflow and visibility.

During SXMDOET, volunteers will help measure and mark the perimeter, attach support beams, and install the diagonal wooden lattice panels around the gazebo. The work includes cutting panels (if needed), securing them with nails or screws, reinforcing weak points in the frame, and completing a general cleanup once installation is done. This improvement will make the gazebo safer, more functional, and better suited for youth programs and community use.
A fully fenced gazebo deck that provides a safe, enclosed space for children during outdoor programs and activities.
Secure installation of black safety netting along the metal gate behind the gazebo to prevent accidents, block unsafe gaps, and create a more controlled environment.
A safer, more structured outdoor learning and recreation area that supports youth development programs.
Improved visual appeal of the gazebo area, making it more welcoming for community events and youth sessions.
Enhanced safety standards that reduce fall risks and protect children during daily use.
A long‑lasting improvement that strengthens the overall functionality of the space and allows the foundation to host activities more confidently and efficiently.
