This project is a collaborative effort between the Phoenix Foundation and MAC JAG, bringing together community partners to restore and improve the Cycle 2 playground.
The current playground has been heavily affected by sun, rain, and salt air over time. With broken plastic parts, worn-out wood, and unsafe structures, the space is no longer suitable for children to use. Instead of continuing temporary fixes, this initiative focuses on creating a fresh, safe, and long-lasting playground area for students.
During SXM DOET, volunteers will support the transformation of the playground space. While the full rebuild will take place in phases, volunteers will play a key role in preparing and enhancing the area by:
Assisting with minor landscaping to improve the surroundings
Building wooden plant pots to add greenery and warmth to the space
Painting fun, interactive games on the ground to encourage active play
Supporting general clean-up and improvement efforts
Together, these efforts will help lay the foundation for a safer, more engaging outdoor environment where children can play, connect, and thrive.
Join this collaboration and be part of creating a space that will bring energy, creativity, and joy to students every day!
