The Sister Basilia Center Day Activity Center is a place where persons young and old with intellectual disabilities come every day to learn, grow, and be themselves, supported by a dedicated team that believes every person deserves to be treated with dignity and given the chance to thrive. And this SXM Doet, we're taking our clients out for a day they will never forget - and you can be part of this as volunteer.
We're heading to Cocky Turtle beach for a fun-filled day of paddle boating, playing in the sand, and swimming. Swimming is an absolute favourite for many of our clients — it brings out the biggest smiles and the most infectious laughter you'll ever see. Beyond the pure fun, a day like this does so much good: it builds confidence, encourages friendships, and lifts everyone's spirits.
Swimming, in particular, is an activity that brings them so much happiness, and we would love to create a joyful and unforgettable experience for everyone involved. This outing is not only about recreation but also about promoting social engagement, confidence, and overall well-being.
We would also like to emphasize that several of our clients have special needs. Ensuring their safety, comfort, and full participation is a top priority for us. We are committed to providing the necessary supervision and support so that each individual can have a safe, enjoyable, and wonderful time at the beach.
We believe this project will be a meaningful experience for our clients, and we look forward to making this day both fun and memorable for them.
