The Caribbean Education and Culture Foundation (CECF), established in 2017 in Sint Maarten, promotes volunteering, intercultural dialogue, and non-formal education for young people across the Caribbean and Europe. Through programs like Do it Caribbean! Learn & Explore and Caribbean Summer School, CECF engages youth in creative, educational, and socially responsible projects, fostering connections and skills across communities.
This year, CECF invites volunteers to join the “Let’s Be Handy and Eco-Friendly” project, designed for children from the St. Peters and St. Reward communities. The project encourages sustainability, solidarity, and arts by transforming waste and donated materials into unique artworks and functional objects.
Volunteers will help run various creative workshop stations or assist the young participants with snacks and drinks, ice-breaking games, and energizers. Materials will come from clean recyclables (plastic/glass bottles), natural resources (seashells, sticks), donated items (old clothes, accessories), and project-purchased supplies (scissors, glue, paints, canvas). If you are a photographer or DJ, then also please sign up and let us know, we would love to have those skills as well present to tap into!

About Caribbean Education and Culture Foundation
Caribbean Education and Culture Foundation (CECF) has a robust background with the Erasmus Plus program, organising and participating in a wide range of KA1 and KA2 projects.
The children will:
- Develop creative thinking and handcrafting skills
- Learn the importance of sustainability and “using less = saving the planet”
- Socialize and have fun with peers
- Create personalized items or gifts
Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in leadership, workshop facilitation, coordination, and community engagement. Every creation will be photographed and displayed in a digital gallery on the CECF website.
Join us to make a difference in the local community, inspire creativity, and help raise environmental awareness, while having a fun and meaningful experience!
