This project is a collaborative effort between SMMC and the Nature Foundation St. Maarten, working together to help preserve one of St. Maarten’s most important ecological sites—Little Bay Pond.
Through this initiative, volunteers will assist with removing garbage from the pond’s banks and repainting the bird-watching house, helping to restore both the natural environment and the visitor experience.

About St. Maarten Medical Center
St. Maarten Medical Center is a non-profit hospital organization. We provide care to Dutch St. Maarten, Saba and Statia.
By cleaning the area, we create a safer habitat for brown pelicans, other wildlife, and the mangroves that play a vital role in the ecosystem. Repainting the bird-watching house will provide a clean, welcoming space for locals and visitors to observe and enjoy the island’s natural beauty.
This collaboration highlights the importance of environmental care, community involvement, and partnership, ensuring that Little Bay Pond remains a protected and appreciated space for generations to come. 🌱✨
