Repair of Mini Libraries and Book Drive

K1 is encouraging all carpenters, creatives, and anyone interested in helping to repair our community mini-libraries to come out and join us! We are looking for 11 volunteers. Volunteers will be giving a new coat of paint, alongside new paint designs, new wooden doors with plexiglass, nobs, and more. The locations are: St. Peter's - Rupert Maynard Community Center Cul de Sac - Emilio Wilson Park Philipsburg - John Larmonie Center Belvedere - Close to the community center. Each location will have a team of 3 volunteers working to restore the mini-libraries. The team will need to use their team building, communication, and creative skills. The community is also welcome to visit the team at any of those 4 locations on the day and bring a book to fill the library.
Currently 8 volunteers wanted
To be able to have 4 newly restored and restocked mini-community libraries for all to use. The concept is simple, leave a book and take a book! We hope this initiative will inspire you to share and trust while cultivating a sense of community. We are encouraging people to share their favorite book, with a complete stranger, with the opportunity to take a book. The idea is to invoke the spirit of giving, trust, and community building. We hope to facilitate learning and leisurely reading because of easy access to reading materials.
